Our Promise to Each Other

Kedron Baptist Church Member Covenant

Whereas: God in his love has granted us an awesome and special mercy, that by repentance and faith we take hold of the forgiveness, redemption, and new life He offers us through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and

Whereas: we have been baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; and

Whereas: we seek to further God’s kingdom in this world through our mutual fellowship, support, and worship as a body of believers; therefore,

We, the members of Kedron Baptist Church, now do prayerfully and dutifully covenant in the presence of God, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit that:

We will be good stewards of our personal resources and abilities in order that we may support the ministries and cover the expenses of this church, share the gospel with all people, and relieve the burdens and needs of others where possible.

We will maintain family and personal devotions, obediently seeking through prayer and study to understand God’s purposes for our lives.

We will teach our children and others entrusted to our care the principles and truths of our faith, humbly desiring that they might experience God’s merciful grace in their lives.

We will endeavor to live disciplined and fruitful lives that display the high standards of Christian morality and justice, responsibly using our God-given liberty, while joyfully witnessing God’s Spirit’s presence in our lives.

Insofar as it is within our power we shall live peacefully and harmoniously with all, being slow to take offense, and ever ready to seek reconciliation without delay as commanded by Christ.

Now, as a result of this covenant relationship, we affirm our desire to act as the Body of Christ in this community, sharing both the joys and sorrows of this life, secure in the faith that God’s love will sustain us always.
